Under impossibly blue Winter skies, a winding track leads to Knockvologan on the Isle of Mull. This beautifully wild and remote expanse of shoreline sees a host of white, sandy beaches abbreviated by studded rocky outcrops and kelp-lined bays.
At mid-day the shallow sun lights the rocks and lichens from an angle that accentuates their rich textures and colours.
