As the lunar phase evolves, there are a couple of times each month when the tidal state meets the sundown on Crantock Bay. When the swell reaches a sand bar, so the choppy waves are transformed into running, shallow flows. When a new weather system is running in, I try to ensure I am down on the sand at these junctures as they can provide breathtaking imagery.
This picture was captured on a sultry, late-summer's evening where the sky's glowing colours were juxtaposed with heavy cloud cover. It is one of a set I captured as the sundown progressed.
