An incoming tide meets the lowering light over the craggy ledge lining Crantock Bay. Here a flooding wave pours through rugged fissures and in to a deep rocky well.
My intention was to create a positive take on the brooding atmospherics that surrounded me. So I composed a powerful, claustrophobic 'wrap' using the textures of the rock formation, and waited for the wave that would release the eye to the freedom of the sky.
This photograph ideally needs viewing at a large size and without my 'watermark' to fully appreciate the detail, textures and colours.
