Where do I start with this image? It was taken one chilled November's evening when I was with workshop regular, Ian Brennan. He is a softly spoken, ex navy Lieutenant form Co. Cork, with a wicked sense of humour and a passion for photography.
As the afternoon wore on and the sun lowered, I watched the sky with increasing anticipation, as the low cloud base, ever so slowly, began to glow.
What we witnessed during the next forty minutes will stay with me forever. For the sky and shoreline was set ablaze with incredibly flaring hues and reflections. All we could do was shoot the display in awed silence. I continuously checked that I was honestly capturing the intense colours (and have ensured they remained so through the subsequent processing).
As the final smudge of scarlet faded in the sky, Ian turned to me and quipped, "So let me get this right!.. You get paid for doing this?"
Aside from the options available in the drop down menu below, this image would suit reproduction as a large fine art print mounted within a heavily carved, ornate, black, or antique gold, frame. This impressive piece would create a striking feature amongst clean, white surroundings. Or it would reside amongst the dark, richly textured surroundings of a study or sitting room.
