The optimum camera settings afforded by my 'magic minute' led to capturing the soft pastel colours of a muted daybreak and revealing the depths of a rock pool, as a rushing wave floods in and ripples the surface.
This image hangs amongst my personal favourites in my studio. It encapsulates everything I find so engaging down on the coast and I always become transfixed when looking into the watery depths and wondering what lies therein.
As a child I would have been 'rock pooling' with my net and jam jar. As a youth it would have been with my fishing rod. As a young man I would have been out in the surf with my board. As a father I would have been with my kids with their nets and jam jars... And now, it's the pure joy of being 'there' with my camera and evoking such memories. Oh, how I love the coast!
