I shot this from atop a rugged outcrop at the end of Pollyjoke Cove. This faces the Atlantic's fiercest moods. So it's a wonder just how the seaweed and mussels manage to cling on as a wild storm rips into them. Yet on this late afternoon, I was taken, not just by the foreground interest, but by the colours marbling the cloud base. They would not last long, so now I needed a good wave set to bring interest and balance to the mid-ground. So when a wave ran in to mirror the curve of the rock, creating a sinuous curve, I was a very happy man!
