The bright summer sunshine bellies the howling gale that was hammering this bright, May afternoon. I was set up on the tip of an exposed headland watching huge waves roll in off the Atlantic.
After a few hours, the wind's constant battering, when added to the muffling of my woollen hat and anorak hood, numbed my hearing. Yet, when a monster rogue wave broke way out, the thunderous, roaring, crackle was a physical force.
